Hasty Fire Products offers 2 training programs, "Hasty Intervention Tactics: Modern RIT Techniques", and the "Hasty Rescue Strap - Train the Trainer" class.
Both classes are mostly hands-on training, with a short classroom overview.
Hasty Intervention Tactics: Modern RIT Techniques
This intense and dynamic hands-on Rapid Intervention training will sharpen your ability to locate, assess, and rescue downed firefighters in the most challenging environments. This course focuses on Modern RIT techniques and utilizes the game-changing Hasty Rescue Strap, a versatile tool designed to streamline firefighter removals. High-stress and challenging scenarios will push you to think on your feet and adapt to the unpredictable nature of firefighter emergencies. The scenarios are designed to enhance your confidence and competence, whether you’re a seasoned firefighter or fresh on the job. You’ll execute swift and efficient rescues from windows, through the floor, below grade, and collapses, while fostering teamwork and sharpening your decision-making under pressure.
This class is offered in a one-day (8-10 Hour), or 2 day (16-20 Hour) format. There will be multiple rotating skill stations where the students can learn and practice skills. The class will finish with scenarios where the students will be expected to work as a team to make decisions and rescues under stress, darkness and/or training smoke, while putting these skills to the test.
Skills that can be featured in this class may include but are not limited to: Downed FF assessments and Packaging, Through the floor rescue (Columbus drill), Window rescue/Denver Drill with Ladder high point & rope, Window to door cutdowns, Below grade rescues, Stair movements, Down FF CPR & Gear removal, Air emergency and management, RIT pack connections and management, Wall Breaching and up & over obstacles.
We try to have multiple scenarios to finish off the class. Ideally, we will have one of these final drills be a combination of RIT scenarios, while encompassing a majority or all of the skills performed during the class.
This class can be adjusted and tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the department and training site. It can easily be adapted to an acquired structure or training facility, and utilize fake smoke or even live fire.
